Our Digital Opportunity Initiative
Our Digital Opportunity initiative aims to stimulate the contribution of Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the implementation of the digital transformation projects in governmental entities. This comes in light of MCIT keenness to establish partnership between the public and private sectors and help SMEs grow to contribute to carrying out major national digital transformation projects.

The initiative is managed by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA). It involves a digital platform that provides information on the digital opportunities offered to SMEs in three different ways that involve carrying out projects, either through collaborating directly with the governmental entities, collaborating with the partner companies of those entities or through competitions that provide training programs to SMEs employees for honing their skills in data science and Artificial Intelligence (AI), ending with carrying out projects.

The initiative platform offered 33 opportunities of participation in implementing digital transformation projects, with the volume of business offered to SMEs estimated with EGP 90 million.

The initiative aims to support the Egyptian ICT SMEs registered at ITIDA database, to contribute to implementing digital transformation projects in governmental entities. This is to enhance the work performance at the ministries and other governmental institutions, improve the quality and raise the efficiency of the services rendered to citizens through improving the work environment.

This is in addition to encouraging local companies to participate in creating more job opportunities for young Egyptians, thus stimulating their competitiveness in local and global markets.  

The platform, also, includes details on the ongoing digital transformation projects in different governmental entities. Each project provides a number of opportunities that can be assigned to SMEs to handle. The platform, in addition, includes the statement of work and the technical specifications of each opportunity, the implementing body and the main performance statistics and indicators. This is for following up on the project phases and the announced opportunities, transparently. Information on the SMEs selected to handle the work will also be announced on the platform.
