ICT Minister Talks ICT Sector Role in Fighting Climate Change

An interview with the ICT Minister Amr Talaat on Channel 1, on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 27). He talked about the role of the ICT sector in fighting climate change, including through the safe disposal of e-waste, the use of clean energy to run cell towers and the replacement of copper cables with fiber optic ones. Talaat mentioned the agreements signed during COP 27, on measuring air pollution and building shared cell towers to reduce emissions, and referred to MCIT Pavilion in the Green Zone, which hosted several sessions and workshops.
