The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Khaled Negm met today with the Swedish Ambassador to Egypt Charlotta Sparre at his office in Smart Village where they discussed bilateral relations and joint cooperation in ICT field.
Negm has underlined the importance of cooperation between Egyptian and Swedish companies. He also denoted the civil society organizations’ role in the ICT sector, under the auspices of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) to maximize common interest and exchange expertise.
For her part, Sparre congratulated Negm on the new position and strongly praised the Egyptian- Swedish relations. She also expressed her interest in growing joint cooperation between the two countries and increasing investments in the ICT sector, especially after the success of Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) which was held in Sharm el-Sheikh under the auspices of President eL-Sisi, through which major economic projects were presented.
This meeting was in line with promoting cooperation between the two countries, resulting in holding the Egyptian-Swedish telecommunications forum, in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy in Cairo on 2 - 3 December 2014. This is in addition to the Swedish Trade and Invest Council.
