ICT, Social Solidarity Ministers Sign Cooperation Protocol to Develop Information Systems


The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Atef Helmy and the Minster of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali have signed a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Ministry of Social Solidarity to develop and modernize integrated information systems at the Social Affairs Authority.

This is achieved through the provision of technology and information support to the Authority, as well as improving the information system that serves all affiliated sectors.

The protocol also includes the application of an electronic system to automate and manage donations, facilitates the process of obtaining and disbursing donations for it has an e-network linking all parties and supporting decision makers.

As per the protocol, around 20 orphanages nationwide would be provided with devices and software to improve services. Moreover, the employees and children will be trained to use computers in order to increase their efficiency.

It was agreed to link 150 units varying from directorate, department and unit at the Ministry premises. Both parties also agreed to benefit from the government e-Cloud initiative, to participate in equipping the information infrastructure of the information center at the Ministry of Social Solidarity currently under construction.

This entails the establishment of  a hotline to receive citizens’ complaints, while implementing the customer care program to be linked to the Ministry’s data, in addition to improve the efficiency of human calibers at the Ministry through IT training courses and acquiring specialized international certificates.

A donations follow-up and management e-system is to link associations to the Ministry in a way to create a network among donors whether individuals or entities to beneficiaries and the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

The protocol reflects the State’s focus on the development of  social solidarity and using IT in this field in the best possible way to take care of orphans and develop youth skills to overcome challenges. This also comes as part of the Ministry of Social Solidarity plan to develop integrated information systems to improve services and offer new ones.
