ICT Minister Heads Egypt Delegation to Participate in MWC 2019


The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, heading a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), headed today to Barcelona, Spain, to participate in the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019).
 
MWC is the world's largest exhibition for mobile phone and relevant industries, organized by Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) on February 25-28. It is attended by around 2400 international companies and 100 participants including decision makers, experts and officials representing international organizations and global ICT companies from across the globe.
 
The Egyptian delegation includes a number of leaders from MCIT, the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
 
As part of his participation in MWC, Talaat is due to meet a number of ministers and officials to explore ways to enhance joint cooperation and exchange of expertise in areas of common interest. This is in addition to holding a series of meetings with officials of international organizations and major ICT companies.
 
Talaat will also witness the signing of a number of agreements with international ICT companies.
 
MWC aims at shedding light on important issues, latest mobile phone innovations, and 5G services. Events include a group of lectures, workshops, and interactive discussions with experts and investors. This is in addition to holding contests between startups, as well as displaying new releases of leading international mobile phone companies.
