MCIT Launches ICDL Grant for PWDs

Within the framework of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) strategic plan to support and empower the participation of People with Disabilities (PWDs) as active members of the community, MCIT launched the ICDL grant to rehabilitate and train PWDs whereas work has commenced in six governorates namely: Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Assiut, Ismailia and Sharkia.          

The main objective behind ICDL grant is to enrich the capacity and potential of PWDs. It aims to develop their basic skills in technology fields, to attain the ICDL grant, an international certification recognized worldwide proving that the holder has sufficient IT knowledge.

ICDL is also an excellent learning and training model in the information society in order to keep pace with the labor market evolution.

ICDL grant is part of a group of programs MCIT has launched based on its deep belief in PWDs rights view the fact that they are an inseparable part of the society, and that they would have a real role in advancing the production wheel as a potent force.

PWDs can highly benefit from the grant to be fully integrated in public life and communicate in the information society.
