The Central Department for Digital Community Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has organized a number of webinars and sessions to promote women economic empowerment, within the framework of the Qodwa-Tech initiative for empowering women.
The Department has organized a webinar on e-commerce titled "Advantages of e-commerce on Ayady Misr". The webinar has been within the framework of the Qodwa-Tech initiative for empowering women, held under the auspices of MCIT, the Ministry of Local Development, and eAswaaq Misr.
The session has highlighted the work strategy of Ayady Misr, the criteria for accepting products for display and marketing, the main product categories on Ayady Misr, how craftswomen and entrepreneurs can create an account on the platform, and product details such as description and images.
In a similar vein, the Central Department for Digital Community Development has held an awareness session for women in Kafr El-Sheikh, titled "Women's Economic Empowerment", in cooperation with the National Council for Women (NCW) in Kafr El-Sheikh.
The session has discussed the significance of empowering women economically and socially to cope with the transformation into a digital society.
It has also shed light on Qodwa-Tech activities and role in raising awareness of the economic and social empowerment opportunities available to women, especially entrepreneurs and artisans.
In addition, the session has explained the huge opportunities that technology offers to women through Qodwa-Tech free training programs and sessions in digital marketing and e-commerce, which contribute to creating sustainable livelihoods for women.
In a related context, MCIT has organized a follow-up session for Qodwa-Tech participants. Around 100 ladies from four training batches, from different governorates, have attended the session.
MCIT, through its community initiatives and programs, always seeks to deliver its digital services to citizens, especially women, across different governorates to enhance their digital skills and raise awareness of the use of technology and its applications. In addition, the Ministry attaches great importance to empowering women by launching initiatives to upskill craftswomen and small business owners and accelerate digital transformation.
Qodwa-Tech is a free initiative that targets craftswomen and owners of small businesses. It reflects the great priority that the country attaches to craft industries, entrepreneurship and small businesses. Qodwa-Tech is aimed at promoting the use of IT applications in digital marketing and e-commerce for promoting handmade products, helping craftswomen scale their businesses, access competitive markets, boost sales and exports, and improve their finances.
