The Interactive Media and Game Development Academy of the Information Technology Institute (ITI) is hosting the Global Game Jam (GGJ) 2022, on January 27-29. The event is organized online as part of the activities of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) - Egypt Chapter, for the 10th consecutive year.
GGJ is the flagship worldwide game development event. It is a game-focused hackathon and a space where talented individuals get together to work in a fun atmosphere of creativity and experimentation. The event aims to stimulate collaboration and encourage people with different backgrounds to participate and contribute to this global spread of game development and innovation.
This year’s version of GGJ will include introductory talks on the game development industry, as well as advanced sessions on designing and developing digital games using Unity and Unreal game engines.
It is worth mentioning that the ITI site received two Guinness World Records as the largest single location with the most participants in a game jam, in 2016 and 2018.
ITI was established in 1993 as an affiliated organization with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). The Institute provides world-class professional capacity-building programs, hands-on training, and exposure to the latest technology trends for university students and graduates, academia, and professionals, in collaboration with a wide network of partners from the ICT industry, academia, and civil society.
