Egypt Partakes in 4th Smart Africa CMICT Meeting

Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), is participating in the 4th meeting of the Smart Africa Council of Ministers in charge of Information and Communication Technologies (CMICT), held online, on May 6.
The meeting will review the progress made since the last regular CMICT meeting, finalize the review of the agreement establishing the Smart Africa Alliance, exchange views on the progress of the One Africa Network (OAN) and share updates on the various Smart Africa flagship projects, including projects to counter COVID-19, which will help achieve the vision of transforming Africa into a single digital market.
Smart Africa is a bold and innovative commitment from African heads of state and government, to accelerate sustainable socio-economic development on the continent, ushering Africa into a knowledge economy through affordable access to broadband and usage of ICTs. The Smart Africa Alliance includes 30 African countries that represent 700+ million people.
