ITIDA Receives ISO Certification for Information Security

The Electronic Transactions Security Sector at the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has received the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for information security.

ITIDA stated that the Electronic Transactions Security Sector received the certification in record time, without any non-conformities, recording an exceptional achievement, especially under the current circumstances and challenges.

The achievement reflects ITIDA keenness on adopting the best international practices in its departments and services, especially those pertaining to the electronic transactions security activities. ITIDA, also, makes sure to keep abreast of the latest developments in this filed, manage information security risks and monitor electronic transactions to maintain their protection, privacy and safety.

Furthermore, ITIDA is planning to achieve a breakthrough in the field of electronic transactions and provide major contributions to the building digital Egypt strategy, to support the state’s plan for achieving the digital transformation.

ITIDA, in addition, plays a key role in developing the human capital in this field, besides its efforts in implanting technology and propagating e-signature services, especially after the amendments applied in the E-Signature Law executive regulations, which were put into effect by virtue of the decree recently issued by the ICT Minister Amr Talaat, pertaining to amending some of these regulations.

The international standard for information security, also known as the ISO/IEC 27001, provides the necessary approach for establishing an integrated information security system and helps achieve the highest standards of security and confidentiality in a way that helps maintain data protection at all levels and in different ways of saving or circulating it, and according to the needs of various governmental or private organizations.
