ITIDA Organizes ‘Hack the Virus’ Online Competition


The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), in collaboration with DELL Technologies, is organizing Hack the Virus online competition, on April 12-30.

This is an online innovation competition that targets Egyptian students, innovators, entrepreneurs and startups. The aim is to encourage them to develop solutions and applications that can help curb the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in Egypt. This is in addition to supporting their proposed solutions using ABCD technologies (Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain, cloud computing and data science).

The competition comprises two tracks: Idea and Minimum Viable Product (MVP). It focuses on two main pillars: wellbeing during isolation and stopping the virus spread; and healthcare services for citizens.

Submission for the competition is open till April 21. The winners will be announced on April 30.
The winning projects and ideas will receive cash prizes of total EGP 135,000, as well as access to TIEC acceleration programs, access to FabLab facilities, consultation services and mentoring.
