Launching “Tamkeen” Competition for PWDs


The Social Services department in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology  announces in collaboration with the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, the launch of the “Tamkeen” competition.

Held on the 9th of October in Ministry of Communications and Information Technology premises, The competition aims at developing software and telephony applications for People With Disabilities.

The competition comes in line with Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s efforts, through the Social Services department, to help people with disabilities and employing technology to integrate and enable their participation in society.

"Tamkeen" falls in three phases: Phase 1, submission of a Concept Paper about the idea, then Phase 2,the development of a Tested Pilot, as awards will be offered for the best Tested Pilot according to its compatibility with the developing phase. During this phase MCIT will offer a number of training courses for the participants based on the needs of every project.

In case the tested pilot is accepted, Phase 2 is followed by Phase3, which is  "Product Development".
