Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) has signed an MoU with Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) to enhance cooperation in science, technology, research, and innovation; exchange academic visits between researchers, and organize joint scientific events.

Telecom Egypt has proactively been developing and investing in state-of-the-art, reliable, and enabling ICT infrastructure, and broadening its services to meet customers' growing needs, stated CEO and Managing Director Adel Hamed.

The Deputy ICT Minister for Administrative Development, Digital Transformation, and Automation Khaled El Attar has stated that Digital Egypt platform is used nationwide, and 7000 accounts have been created on the platform. Around 32 million service requests and transactions have been conducted on the platform. He also revealed that the platform provides 168 digital services currently and new government services in education will be added.

The ICT Minister Amr Talaat has stated that Egypt has established the first forensic laboratory in Africa specializing in software in cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Ministry of Justice. In addition, he pointed out that MCIT seeks to add new services to register and protect innovations and ideas on Digital Egypt platform.

The fifth Cyber Security and Innovation Series (CSIS) – Egypt Edition is held on March 6-7, in Cairo. CSIS is supported by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), and the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) is the strategic partner. CSIS aims to bring together all stakeholders under one platform to accelerate sustainable innovation, address new risks, and reframe security practices. It addresses the latest challenges and opportunities in cybersecurity and innovation space.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has inspected Maasaret Mallawy Post Office in Minya Governorate, during inspecting Decent Life projects in Minya. The Office provides all financial, postal, and governmental services as well as Digital Egypt services to the villagers. The office has been modernized and equipped with state-of-the-art technology systems and solutions.

The ICT Minister Amr Talaat has stated that MCIT works to attract mobile phone manufacturers to set up plants in Egypt. The aim is to hit $1 billion worth of digital exports by the end of 2023 by boosting local manufacturing and production.

The ICT Minister Amr Talaat has stressed the significance of indigenizing the electronics industry, adding that young people are trained in the field of integrated circuit (IC) design, since it is a human capital-intensive industry.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has selected the Egyptian African Telecom Regulatory Training Center (EG-ATRC) of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to join ITU Academy Training Centres (ATC) programme. Egypt is the first Arab country to join ITU ATC.
