The Innovation Cluster Initiative (ICI) aims to create a network of innovation clusters (iCluster) inside the technology parks nationwide, to enable innovation and entrepreneurship in ICT.
The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) launched the initiative to promote innovation and entrepreneurship through Public-Private Partnership (PPP). Each cluster specializes in a specific promising ICT-enabled sector, creating new job opportunities and providing accumulated experiences.
An innovation cluster is defined as a group of legal entities (cluster members) including universities, private companies and entrepreneurship centers. A cluster must be comprised of one university at least, and cluster members collaborate within a specific work scope in a certain geographical area to offer high-value innovations to global markets.
