The ITI’s 28th graduation ceremony marked the graduation of the largest intake in the history of the ITI with a total of 815 graduates. In his speech during the event, Dr. Tarek Kamel said the development and growth of IT exports including IT enabled services, off-shoring and outsourcing services is highly dependent on the availability of well trained, professional workforce possible through the implementation of ITI’s training programs and the conclusion of training protocols and agreements between the ITI and specialized international universities.

In his speech during the signing ceremony of the agreement between Egyptian National Post Organization (ENPO) and Italian Post (Poste Italiane), Dr. Kamel said the agreement reflects MCIT’s keenness to develop the post industry which is considered to be a key economic and service driver to Egypt’s modernization system.

Intel Corp. held a celebration to announce for the completion of Phase I of " Intel World Ahead" program in Egypt which supplies Egyptian schools with Intel-Powered Classmate PCs. The project is carried out in cooperation with Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Ministry of Education and EDU Systems International (ESI). Minister of CIT Dr. Tarek Kamel and Minister of Education Dr. Yousry El-Gamal witnessed the celebration.

A live conversation with Dr. Tarek Kamel regarding the damage to a submarine cable in the Mediterranean has caused a cut off in internet services and international communications at contact centers in Egypt. The cut off occurred in the cables of Fiber-Optic Link Around the Globe (FLAG) and the South East Asia-Middle East-West Europe 4 (SEA-ME-WE 4), which are managed in coordination with TE. Dr. Tarek Kamel formed an emergency task to resolve the damage and follow-up on its consequences.
