The Future of the Internet Economy in Egypt

A statistical profile on the future of the Internet Economy in Egypt. The report provides recent statistical and analytical data on the internet usage in Egypt, as well as trends over the period 2000-2008. It includes data on: internet users, internet bandwidth and cost, household and enterprise usage of the internet, internet subscription mode, internet usage by different demographics, internet usage in education, e-government and e-commerce applications. The report is produced in line with the OECD’s "statistical Profile for the Internet Economy" in an attempt to standardize the ICT indicators according to international organizations.

The Egyptian Education Initiative … Keys to Success

A close view of EEI keys to success, namely: public-private partnership, infrastructure, professional development, educational resources, Web 2.0, the school management system, the model for improvement of faculties of education, monitoring and evaluation, and enabling change. Launched in 2006 under the auspices of Egypt's First Lady as a public-private partnership between the government of Egypt and the World Economic Forum, the EEI lays down a progressive model for reforming Egypt's education system.

Egyptian Education Initiative (Version II)

A look at the Egyptian Education Initiative (EEI), launched in May 2006 - under the auspices of Egypt's First Lady Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak - as a public-private partnership between the government of Egypt and the World Economic Forum as a progressive model for reforming Egypt's education system. The publication provides an overview of the initiative's four tracks: Pre-university education, higher education, lifelong learning and e-learning industry development.

Cyber Peace Initiative

Version two of the baseline study for the Cyber Peace Initiative, sponsored jointly by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement (SMWIP). The initiative aims to provide Egypt's youth with training and opportunities for dialogue and partnerships with youth around the world, creating a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration and experience exchange.

National Contact Point of ICT Thematic Priority under FP7 Program

The flyer provides clear guide to participation in the ICT theme of the EU’s 7th Framework Program for Research and Technology Development (FP7). The goal of MCIT is to give all ICT research constituents in Egypt an equal opportunity to participate in the EU Framework Program by offering all relevant information, training, tutoring, and other support services.
