Dr. Tarek Kamel Minister of Communications and Information Technology witnessed today at the Smart Village the 3-year cooperation protocol agreement signing between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the American University in Cairo (AUC) in the domains of training and development.
Dr. Ikram Fathy First Advisor to CIT Minister for Training and Human Resources and Dr. Edward Simson AUC Vice President for Continuing Education signed the agreement in the presence of Dr. Kamel – who was inaugurating the new AUC office at the Smart Village - and the AUC President David Arnold.
The protocol aims at preparing and training calibers capable of utilizing and applying ICT tools. It reflects the wish of the AUC to support the MCIT''s initiatives, which seeks the development of the information infrastructure through utilizing whatever available advanced technological methods.
About 3000 to 5000 trainees, whether graduates or non-graduates will be trained through the signed protocol. The training programs – which will be taught in English - will focus on IT and management basics. Results will be evaluated before and after the training in addition to conducting periodical assessments to assess the standard of training.
