International Youth Forum to Witness Launch of Cyber Peace Initiative
Date Published: 30 August, 2007
Under the slogan: "youth speak, we listen", about 600 young people from 100 countries worldwide are gathering to express their views and aspirations about peace in the global event "International Youth Forum" held from September 1 – 3 under the auspices of the First Lady Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak in Sharm el Sheikh.

Egypt's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is due to contribute to the forum with the Cyber Peace Initiative with the major theme: "ICT for Peace", entailing several sessions on various ICT-related fields and incorporating six tracks.

"The forum is expected to witness a partnership agreement signing among the International Communications Association, the World Alliance for Telecommunication and Information Technology and Development, Cisco Systems and Microsoft Corporation as well as the MCIT," says Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel.

The International Youth Forum is the first event of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) organized by the civil society cooperatively with international organizations.
