In an interview with “Sada Al Balad”, the minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Mohamed Salem says that an Arabic e- content strategy is to be released during the coming month. Dr. Mohamed Salem explained that the strategy is meant to provide more suitable Arabic content on internet for all users. According to His Excellency Dr. Salem, the strategy also aims at encouraging the establishment of e-content companies in a way that increases the number of broadband internet users in Egypt. Moreover, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology shall set a plan of implementation for the new broadband strategy, taking into consideration all amendments that could be introduced to the strategy according to companies’ requirements. |

Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Mohamed Salem said that MCIT seeks to produce the first Egyptian computer device for schools students with an amount of investments reaching 2 billion dollars. He explains that 20 million device are to be produced within ten years. In another context, Dr. Salem informs that shutting down internet, according to the new law project, is to be approved by the government and the president’s written order. According to Dr. Salem, the new law project is to be approved by the Parliament. |

In an interview with Al-Ahram, minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Mohamed Salem said that the banks are the first to benefit from the e-signature application. He also informed that transferring money through mobile phones is now ready to be applied, except that launching this service needs a secured situation. Dr. Salem explained that the broadband internet initiative will pump more investments in the Egyptian market. |

Dr. Mohamed Salem, minister of Communications and Information Technology, explained that the Egyptian government will be in charge of 20 per cent of the cost of the National Plan of Internet Development which will be in the form of facilities and incentives. This plan will introduce 4.17 billion dollars investments in Egypt and will provide 40 thousands job opportunity |

In his interview with "Al-Gomhoria Al- Osbo'y" newspaper (Al-Gomhoria Weekly), Dr. Salem stressed critical and practical measures taken to promote national and international investments. H.E. also mentioned that there are some measures that are taken in response to requests from Call Centers to solve their problems. He also made it clear that the priority for the ICT projects will be for SMEs for the next period, and entities emerging outside Cairo will be encouraged. Dr. Salem also defended Smart Village and he said it was and will remain an arrowhead for ICT sector in Egypt. |

Dr. Salem says that the Egyptian people have the right to see a new regulation of the Communications and Information Technology sector in a new constitution. The amendments of the ICT law encompass the regulating law of communications, the security and freedom of information, the cyber- crime and activating the e-signature law. Dr. Salem adds that the young people are the future and that the Egyptian youth possesses great potential and unique skills that should be perfectly used to achieve maximum benefit for Egypt. |
