    Egypt Post to Host the Fourth PAPU Extraordinary Session

    Egypt Post is hosting the extraordinary session of Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) due to be held from June 1-9, 2009 in Cairo. The meeting will be presided by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel as Egypt heads the PAPU commission till 2012.
    Eng. Alaa Fahmy, Egyptian National Post Organization (ENPO) Chairman and Board Chairman of PAPU, said such an important event, to be held for the second consecutive year, reflects Egypt's key role on the African arena as well as the significant international status of the Egyptian post.
    The PAPU technical committees are scheduled to meet in the first three days, followed by the meetings of the union board, during which the new board chairman will be elected.
    The commissioners' conference will be held on the final day under the chairmanship of Dr. Kamel.
    Delegations from the post organizations of 43 African countries will take part in the session, which paves the way for opening new cooperation channels in this domain.
    More than 15 African communications and IT ministers, Mr. Eduard Dayan the Director General of the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) , other representatives of the (UPU) in addition to international and African organizations  are also expected to participate in the session.
