    ICT Minister Witnesses Signing of MoU between ITI, Palo Alto Networks to Train 1,000 Young People in Cybersecurity

    Cairo, 17 May 2020

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat witnessed, today, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Information Technology Institute (ITI) and Palo Alto Networks Inc.. The aim is to train 1,000 young trainers on the latest digital educational technologies in cybersecurity, through integrative learning tools.

    This comes within the framework of implementing the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s (MCIT) strategy for the digital transformation, the most important pillar of which is training and qualifying human calibers in telecommunication and digital technologies.

    Talaat underlined the significance of empowering and honing the skills of undergraduate students and graduates in cybersecurity. He directed for increasing the number of beneficiaries of qualification programs, to reach 5,000 young trainers, with the aim to introduce young people to cybersecurity and provide them with learning and job opportunities in this modern field.

    The MoU was signed by ITI Chairwoman Heba Saleh and the  Regional Sales Manager for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region at Palo Alto Networks Mohsen Abou El Leil.

    The recent partnership targets qualifying trainers to provide training content to young people under 14. This comes within the ITI strategy that focuses on designing training programs for different segments of society, implemented in collaboration with the best training private companies that specialize in qualifying technically skilled calibers, to meet the increased demand in Egypt and worldwide.

    Palo Alto is one of the world’s largest companies for cybersecurity. It focuses on training and raising awareness of youth and helping them conduct their academic studies in this field and join the labor market, after graduation, with a rich knowledge and technology background.
