    New Investments; Cooperation with MasterCard in Financial Inclusion at Conclusion of US Visit

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser ElKady and his accompanying delegation—during the US ministerial mission—have met with the senior officials of MasterCard, the leading e-payment and financial inclusion solutions provider based in New York. The delegation was received by the Chief Financial Officer Martina Hund-Mejean, the Division President - Middle East and North Africa Khalid Elgibaly and the Country Manager for Egypt and North Africa Magdy Hassan.

    The two parties agreed to hold a workshop in Cairo to discuss future cooperation in relation to developing a strategy for prompting the digital economy by means of providing government support services to citizens via smart cards. This is in addition to the smart transportation services and big data analyses that support decision-makers and drive economic growth. Through the prospective collaboration model, entrepreneurs and startups in the areas of innovation, creation and integrated software will be supported through the establishment of a specialized center in technology parks.

    ElKady and his accompanying delegation have, also, met with Jon H. Larson President of Ocean County College in New Jersey, where they agreed to sign a cooperation protocol with the New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII), aiming to build strategic relations and promote future cooperation, including the establishment of a center for creativity in New Assiut Technology Park, which will be connected to Assiut University. The center will provide training opportunities for creative young people in the governorate and other neighboring governorates.

    Ocean County College offers a range of different learning paths with multiple learning methods to suit different learners and support continuing lifelong learning. It focuses on providing a range of academic degrees and certification in applied sciences.

    The ICT Minister also met with a number of officials from Enfor, a leading provider of smart technology solutions for the business sector. During the meeting, Enfor expressed its interest in investing in Egypt and cooperating with startups specialized in providing software services.

    Enfor is an international company specialized in developing software and technology applications, for the business sector, employing 15,000 developers and employees in 41 countries and has 90,000 customers worldwide.
