    MCIT Partakes in G20 Ministerial Meeting on Trade, Digital Economy in Japan

    Cairo, 5 June 2019

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has headed to Japan, heading a high-level delegation, to participate in G20 Ministerial Meetings on Trade and Digital Economy, on June 8-9, in Tsukuba and Tokyo.

    The meeting aims to discuss stimulating the global economy, reforming international financial institutions, and implementing economic reforms.
    Talaat is due to hold a number of meetings on June 6-7, with Japanese officials and representatives of companies and academia, to establish effective partnerships in ICTs, to contribute to promoting economic growth through creating more job vacancies and encouraging technological innovation.

    The G20 Summit is officially known as the “Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy”. The Summit’s meetings aim at achieving strong global economic growth, and focuses, not only on macroeconomics and trade, but also on a large number of global issues that have major impact on the global economy, including development, climate change, energy, health, counterterrorism, migration and refugees.
