    Tripartite protocol Signed to Increase Competitiveness, Develop Local Demand

    Cairo, 11 December 2013
    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Atef Helmy witnessed today the ceremony of signing a trilateral cooperation protocol between the Computer and Software Department at Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, Chamber Of Information Technology & Communication and Etisal Association aiming at integration and cooperation to serve Egypt information industry and member companies in particular.

    The new protocol allows the three entities integral bundles of development programs to increase companies’ competitiveness; as well as promoting the local market, support export and open new markets for companies’ services and products  at local, regional and international levels.

    The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) supports developmental programs, technical and professional training programs eligible for international certifications.

    ITIDA also supports technology awareness campaigns, exhibitions  touring Egypt’s governorates, central specialized services, companies rehabilitation programs to directly inject investments, technology services conglomerated through cloud computing uses, marketing and sales activities and others.

    During the ceremony, the work that has been carried out through the cooperation protocol signed in September 2013 between the Computer and Software Department and the E-Learning Competence Center (ELCC) affiliated with MCIT has been displayed.

    The protocol’s main objective has been to create and put to operation 27 e-centers in every commerce chamber across Egypt’s governorates, dubbed “Technology and Traders Academies” by establishing one academy in each commerce chamber.

    Those academies are supported by Cisco International to learn the basic and advanced skills of computers and networks.

    The centers train members of commerce chambers at the different governorates, in addition to their employees, families and civil society members on all training programs offered by ELCC, which uses e-learning technology and commerce programs that contribute in enhancing the efficiency of companies and society members to qualify them access the knowledge economy system.

     The pilot project of economic geographic information systems (GIS), implemented through MCIT for Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, to be generalized on all other commercial chambers in the different governorates has been presented during the event. This is in addition to connecting the economic GIS with related government bodies, among which are Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Ministries of  Investment, and Trade and Industry,  among other related bodies.
