    ICT Minister, French Ambassador Discuss Cooperation in ICTs

    Cairo, 26 July 2018

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has received, at his office in Smart Village, the French Ambassador to Egypt Stefan Roumtier. During the meeting, they discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation between Egypt and France in the field of communication and information technology between the two countries.

    At the beginning of the meeting, Talaat highlighted the depth of the distinguished relations between Egypt and France in various fields. He added that Egypt is keen to benefit from the French expertise and open wider horizons for cooperation in the ICT field, especially in the areas of: innovation incubation and technology incubators, management of technology parks, and development and training of Egyptian human calibers in French digital secondary schools.

    For his part, Roumtier congratulated Talaat on his assumption of the duties of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in the new government. He expressed his hope to increase the ongoing cooperation between Egypt and France in many fields related to ICTs. He highlighted the keenness of French businessmen to establish presence in the Egyptian market, pointing out that the meeting with the ICT Minister was very productive, since they agreed to cooperate and exchange experiences in the fields of e-government, cybersecurity, technology parks, e-health projects, smart cities, and other forms of cooperation between Egypt and France.
