    ICT Minister Receives 1st Place Winner at CES-AI Competition

    Cairo, 22 January 2018

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser ElKady has received Hany Al-Gebali and Hossam Sami from Avidbeam— a company specialized in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analysis— which received the first prize in the competition of the best AL startups, organized by Trend Forward Capital— the world's leading start-up investment company— at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held in Las Vegas, USA, on January 9.

    ElKady hailed the achievements of the Company and underlined the state's support for startups in the field of innovation and creation. He also referred to the state’s support in promoting its products regionally and internationally to increase exports, open new markets, expand investment and provide more new business opportunities based on entrepreneurship to benefit from young people’s ideas and distinguished innovations in various fields.

    Al-Gebali stated that Avidbeam is specialized in the field of innovative solutions that analyze video data to extract important information automatically, without human intervention, and generate simple and comprehensive reports aimed at obtaining information accurately. A wide range of sectors benefit from this technology, including various industries such as smart cities, autonomous driving, commerce, sports, medicine and other fields.

    The Company has participated in CES, in Las Vegas as part of the delegation of the General Division of Digital Economy and Technology of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), which included nine startups specialized in several technology fields. The Company was among CIO 2017 list, as one of the emerging startups in big data analysis technology. In addition, Avidbeam presented the ATUN set, a large set of data analysis tools, at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco in 2016, and presented its products at Cairo ICT 2017.

    The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) nominated Avidbeam to participate in CES competitions. TIEC provides good opportunities for emerging companies to increase their market opportunities by developing their competitiveness; encouraging them to use the latest technology to compete locally and globally; and providing them with growth opportunities.
