    Last updated: 1 October 2011
Google is truly one of the most remarkable entities in the world seeking to explore young talents and support their innovative ideas. Google regional office in Egypt encourages Egyptian technology-lover youth to imagine, invent and innovate.

Such innovations, once coming to real life, will realize an industrial leap in the field of Information Technology, thus, helping the economy to move forward towards achieving sustainable development.

Aware of such a fact, Google launches several initiatives, prizes, and organizes various conferences in connection with Communications and Information Technology.

Under the slogan: “Start your dream, Start your project, Start your Success Story, Start Now”, Google launches “Start with Google” prize.

The contest aims to transfer innovative ideas to the markets through finding the best Egyptian project in IT. Google presents, through this contest, a 1.2 billion EGP prize for the winner, in order to establish a company to strengthen and empower his project.

The program is being executed by Science Age Society (SAS), a local NGO, and Innoventures, a local tech incubator.

The Country Manager for Google North Africa, Mr. Wael Fakharany says that Google is passionate about growing internet ecosystem in Egypt. The aim of Start with Google is to inspire Egyptians to start their own technology ventures and have a series of working models online which directly benefit the Egyptian economy.

Entrepreneurs can submit tech business ideas in several areas including cloud computing, digital advertising, e-commerce as well as mobile applications, location based applications, SMEs enablement and Arabic content.

Besides, Google organizes various activities in Egypt and the region; such as Google conferences for developers in Dubai from 19- 20 October and Amman from 23- 24 October.

Each conference entails several dynamic workshops about various issues where web developers, supervisors, students and specialists in IT and management get to learn by using latest technologies.

Recognizing the importance of the different forms of media including blogs and videos on internet in helping marginalized people due to scare resources or political circumstances, to be fully connected to what’s going on in the world and also be proactive persons in the society, Google launches the Citizen Media, a global innovation competition.

The competition is organized in cooperation with Ashoka, an american non- profit organization seeking to find the most innovative solutions that unlock the power of media to spark citizenship.

Winners' Prizes: Four entries will receive a cash prize of US $5,000. The most competitive entrants will also be considered for an Ashoka Fellowship - complete with a three-year living stipend, international recognition, and access to a network of systems-changing social entrepreneurs.
