MCIT Provides Fully-Subsidized NTL Training Programs to Target Groups

    Date published: 13 June 2017

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser ElKady has agreed—during the recent Board of Directors meeting of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA)—on providing all the training programs related to the Next Technology Leaders (NTL) presidential initiative to all NTL targeted groups with no cost and fully funded. This subsidy is within the strategy of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to build a distinguished base of qualified youth and take advantage of advanced technologies to promote the economic and social development.

The Board approved the proposal of the NTL Executive Committee to offer the grant programs to all ICT and electronics specialists in various sectors and various for-profit and non-profit organizations, so as not to be confined to ICT sector employees.

The NTL beneficiaries include university students (third and fourth years) and graduates since 2006, whether working in the sector, job seekers or faculty members from the faculties of computers, information and engineering in the fields of communications and computer.

Registration is made through the website www.ntl.gov.eg. The initiative grants a reward of EGP 1000 for each student who completes and successfully passes the training program.

A number of 700 trainees from more than 20 governorates have joined the training courses, offered on global e-training platforms such as Coursera, Edx and Udacity. The training programs include about 25 training courses, most of which are offered within six months, in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analysis, software development, embedded systems such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing, information security, as well as training programs in strategic planning and entrepreneurship.
