    Three Egyptian Startups Qualify for ArabNet Startup Championship in Dubai

    Three Egyptian startups qualified for the ArabNet Startup Championship, held within the ArabNet Digital Summit 2017 which is organized on May 16-17 in Dubai, UAE. The Digital Summit 2017 consists of four forums; namely, the Digital Commerce, Smart Economy, AdTech and Innovation and Investment.

    Digital Commerce tackles the entire spectrum from on-demand commerce and omni-channel retail to digital transformations in banking and payments and disruptive fintech innovations; while Smart Economy explores smart cities and governments, the future of cars and transportation, the digital enterprise, machine learning technologies, big data, Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and Internet of Things (IoT). Moreover, AdTech features the latest advertising and media technologies, from analytics to content distribution and automation via two full tracks. The Innovation and Investment forum helps participants learn about limited partnership (LPs), private equity investors, family offices, and how to invest in or collaborate with startups. The Summit will feature, via this Forum, the ArabNet Startup Championship, with pitches from 18 of the most promising startups from across MENA, hand-picked through local pitching rounds.

    In Cairo’s Startup Battle 2017—held on March 29 at the Greek Campus in Cairo, the three startups; namely, WideBot, Mumm, dotMeta, were crowned as winners and qualified for the ArabNet Startup Championship. They will get on stage and pitch their business model to a panel of judges, investors, and professionals for a chance in receiving a $20K prize, as well as a scholarship to participate in the Blackbox Connect program.
