ITIDA Launches FWD Initiative to Train 100K on Future Jobs, Skills

    Date published: 30 May 2020

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has launched the “Future Work is Digital (FWD)” initiative, to train the young people on advanced, in demand IT areas. This comes within the framework of the comprehensive strategy of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) for building the digital Egypt, through revolutionizing the development of the Egyptians’ skills and capacities.

The initiative targets training 100,000 young people, online, on web, data and digital marketing skills, through a number of specialized training tracks, designed in collaboration with major technology companies and available on Udacity, a leading international platform in e-learning. It aims to take in the largest number possible of applicants of different technical capacities, through offering four training levels: basic, professional, advanced and outstanding, with 12 training tracks covering the technological skills in demand, both locally and globally.

The initiative also aims to reinforce Egypt’s position in the global IT scene and place it among the top countries exporting digital services. It aims, in addition, to create a wide range of job opportunities for young Egyptians through qualifying them to master freelance digital jobs, as well as laying the groundwork for a comprehensive national system for providing trained calibers in the latest IT fields.

FWD involves implementing a number of technology projects by each trainee, with experts reviewing and evaluating such projects. This is in addition to providing educational groups supervised by professional mentors to promote sharing knowledge among the trainees, and showcasing success stories of freelancing and remote work.

For more information on the initiative requirements and the available tracks, kindly visit the initiative web page on ITIDA website http://www.itida.gov.eg/egFWD. For registration and selection of the right track, kindly visit the initiative website http://www.egFWD.com/.
