Eighth ArabNet Beirut 2017 Kicks off

    Date published: 19 February 2017

The eighth edition of ArabNet Beirut will be held on February 20-22, in Beirut, Lebanon. ArabNet Beirut is Lebanonís leading conference on digital business in the Levant and Egypt.

In its eighth edition, the Conference will bring together over 1,300 corporate executives, marketing industry leaders, entrepreneurs and investors to discuss the latest trends in the digital sector, as well as opportunities available for companies working in this area. With the increasing availability of Venture Capital funding in Lebanon, which ranks second regionally in number of investments according to ArabNet research, the Conference is also the ideal gathering for leaders looking to explore and support digital innovation.

The Conference agenda will include the Banking Innovation Day that will bring together 150 bankers, technology providers and agencies to discuss the latest innovations in banking technology, from smart branches to mobile payments. The Day will feature two full tracks, one focused on digital marketing for banks and the other on digital products/channels - which will allow leaders in the banking sector to source suppliers and service providers who can help them navigate these digital transformations.

ArabNet Beirut addresses the Lebanese market and highlights the technology innovation sector in neighboring markets such as Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Syria and Iraq, home to some of MENA top talents. The event features competitions for promising youths including Startup Battle (previously Startup Demo), Ideathon and Innovation Avenue (hardware focused).

Founded in 2009, the vision of ArabNet is to help grow the web and mobile sectors in the Arab world through its activities. It also aims to build business bridges across the MENA, stimulate the growth of the Arab digital knowledge economy, and support the creation of new businesses and job opportunities for aspiring youths.
