The Information Technology Institute (ITI) is hosting Maker Hackathon Cairo 2020, on February 13-16, within the framework of its usual keenness to empower young makers and promote innovation.

Maker Hackathon Cairo is a hardware fabrication competition, organized by Dimensions Student Organization of Helwan University, and sponsored by a number of organizations and companies. The aim is to help young innovators start their own business and establish successful startups.

During the competition, contesting groups get to turn their ideas into prototypes, using a range of facilities, including a working space, cutting edge digital fabrication tools and mentoring. This is in addition to getting access to ITI Makerspace, a fabrication laboratory with a wide range of digital equipment.

Activities include an ideation camp, a fabrication stage and a pitch day where projects are evaluated and winners are announced.
