Egypt Partakes in IGF 2016 Second Open Consultations and MAG Meeting

    Date published: 10 July 2016

Egypt, represented by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), will take part in the second Open Consultations and the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), scheduled to take place at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, USA, on July 12-14.

The purpose of the second round of IGF open consultations and MAG meeting is to advance preparations for the IGF 2016 annual meeting and to take stock of the ongoing IGF community activities and other relevant Internet Governance related fora.

The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2016 will be held on December 6-9, in Jalisco, Mexico. IGF is a multi-stakeholder space for dialogue regarding policies convened in 2006 by the United Nations General Secretariat. The IGF facilitates a common understanding of how to maximize Internet opportunities and address risks and challenges that arise. The IGF is also a space that gives developing countries the same opportunity as wealthier nations to engage in the debate on Internet governance and to facilitate their participation in existing arrangements.
