Egypt Partakes in 7th International Conference on Medical Informatics and Telemedicine

    Date published: 12 August 2019
Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), participated in the 7th International Conference on Medical Informatics and Telemedicine, as an organizer and speaker at one of the Conference’s sessions, held on August 12-13, in Rome, Italy.

The Conference brought together academics and representatives of the private sector, governments and community organizations, from various European, Asian and Middle Eastern countries.

The Conference discussed the latest research and health services in a number of areas, including telemedicine, digital healthcare services, informatics health systems, and telemedicine regulations, with the aim to achieve comprehensive health coverage.

Egypt’s participation in the conference, presenting the telemedicine experience using technology in remote and marginalized areas, aims at acquiring international expertise to develop the work model and exchange knowledge in sustainable development, as well as enhancing international cooperation opportunities.

This comes in the framework of implementing MCIT strategy and the presidential initiative for mainstreaming telemedicine to include 300 health units to serve Egyptian citizens nationwide.

It, also, reflects MCIT keenness to participate in international events to share the best practices in sustainable development and raise awareness of the importance of using information technology in addressing various issues, including improving healthcare services, especially in telemedicine.
