    SECC Organizes Business Drivers for Software Industry

    Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC)- affiliated to the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) - organized the Get-Together on "Business Drivers for Software Industry" event on May 11.

    The event was chaired by SECC Chairman Hossam Osman with the presence of ITIDA CEO Hussein El-Gueretly and a number of software industry leaders in Egypt and a number of entitiesí representatives and ICT companies.

    The eventís agenda comprised a number of success stories and case studies from software companies that have seen measurable results through process improvement and have leveraged the power of capability.

    SECC Software experts gave presentations on methodologies to improve software companiesí capabilities. CMMI Institute CEO Kirk Botula praised efforts of SECC to adopt the CMMI model for development and services in Egypt and the Middle East.

    The sessions also tackled steps followed by companies to acquire the CMMI model certification and to seize trade opportunities to develop quality of their software processes and means to measure investment revenues.
    During the event, the center distributed CMMI certificates of different levels to companies, as well as the companies that participated at the Software Process Implementation Guide for Small and Medium Enterprises (SPIG for SMEs) program. 

    SECC offers its services since June 2001 under the umbrella of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to support the industry in Egypt. The Center then became an affiliate of ITIDA in 2005. SECC aims to support and develop software and IT services industry to leverage the Egyptian companies competitiveness worldwide.
