    SPI for SMEs 2015 Program Launches

    Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC), affiliated the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has launched the Software Process Improvement for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) 2015 Program.

    SPI for SMEs program aims at helping Egyptian IT companies to achieve maturity and business success through improving software development and quality of service delivery at low cost, with minimal risk and highest flexibility.

    The eight-month program, designed specially to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), aims to raise the quality of software products of these companies and boost their technical standards by means of utilizing state-of-the-art software development processes.

    The program relies on implementing SPI Guide (SPIG), released by SECC as a model that suits the nature of SMEs operations, based on the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).

    The purpose of the program is to encourage SMEs to pursued software development in order to raise their competence in a bid to acquire the CMMI.

    The SPIG comprises instructions, procedures and detailed models for enhancing methods of operations and facilitating the software quality improvement procedure.  An electronic version is enclosed to the guide for companies to use as an effective tool anywhere.

    The program includes, among others, software development and management, service operation and management and quality assurance.

    Since its launch nine years ago, more than 139 companies benefited from the SPI for SMEs Program, like software houses, IT service companies and IT teams. Registration is open until 28 February.
