ITIDA Organizes a Workshop on Judicial Protection of Intellectual Property Rights

    Date published: 24 July 2007

With increased concern over safeguarding Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) in collaboration with the National Center for Judicial Studies organizes a workshop on Judicial Protection of Intellectual Property Rights on July 25-26, 2007.

The workshop aims to exchange views and expertise over the issue with special emphasis on the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Over a hundred Chief Prosecutor and Prosecutor Attorneys are expected to participate in the event.

The workshop intends to highlight ITIDAs role in protecting and safeguarding IPR as well as the task it could assume as a technical authority in settling disputes over such eminent issue while bringing out the economic ramifications that result from piracy practices and violations of IPR.

Intellectual Property Protection Offices mandate is to create awareness of IPR protection with regards to software patent rights as well as to provide consultancy over technical and legal issues pertinent to software and data regulations in addition to  promoting and coordinating collaboration with all stakeholders whether on the local, regional or international levels.
