Third Arab Internet Governance Forum (IGF)

    Date published: 16 November 2014

The third annual meeting of the Arab Internet Governance Forum (IGF) will be held in Beirut from 25 to 27 November, 2014, under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA).

In the framework of the third Arab IGF, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT)will  organize a workshop under the title of "Digital content and Social networks in the Arab region."

This workshop provides a comparison between the types of the digital content and the use of social networks in the Arab region and developed countries. It also sheds light on the gap between the rapid spread of technology in the Arab region, especially among the most widely categories using technology: youth and children.

Egypt has always participated actively in the forum. It has organized workshops in the past two rounds of the forum in relation with child online protection, assessing blocking and self-regulation in the Arab Region.
