    MCIT Supervises Selection of Qualified Egyptian Team to Partake in IOI

    Under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the first qualifying heat to select the qualified Egyptian team to participate in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2019, Azerbaijan, is taking place on April 12-13, where students who participated in the Egyptian Olympiad in Informatics (EOI) will go through two five-hour online exams, over the two days.

    The second qualifying heat will take place on April 19-20, where participants will go through two onsite exams at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) premises in Alexandria, based on which, the top 20 participants will be selected. The winning team will be selected during July 7 - August 1, through three camps to select and equip the team that will participate in the IOI 2019.

    The IOI is one of five international science Olympiads. It aims to stimulate interest in informatics, computing science, and IT. It brings together exceptionally talented students from various countries, and encourages sharing scientific and cultural experiences.
