    El-Sisi Receives Cisco Systems CEO

    President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi received, today — in the presence of the ICT Minister Amr Talaat— Chuck Robbins, the Chief Executive Officer of Cisco Systems, a leading US networking equipment manufacturer.

    El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the active business of Cisco Systems in Egypt, which supports the digital transformation initiatives through its various investments, and for its efforts to build the capabilities of Egyptian young calibers by transferring its technological expertise. This is in line with the government's strategy of digital transformation and automation of all its services provided to citizens, aiming to improve those services and promotes economic and social growth in the country.

    The President also highlighted Egypt's readiness to provide support to Cisco to increase its investments and expand its business in Egypt, thus contributing to providing more employment opportunities and making use of the efficiency of the Egyptian human resources in the digital fields, especially at research and development sectors. This is in addition to assisting the Company to enter African markets, in view of the close bilateral ties of cooperation between Egypt and African  countries.

    For his part, Robbins emphasized the Company's keenness to develop its investments and cooperation with Egypt to lay the foundations for digital transformation. He also reviewed the Company's most important initiatives in Egypt to develop young people's ICT related skills through a range of activities such as providing training and technical expertise for young people and national startups and supporting innovation, with a view to preparing scientifically and technically qualified staff at the highest level.

    Cisco CEO also hailed the steps taken by Egypt to maximize the role of advanced technology in the development process, as well as to improve the business environment and attract foreign investment, despite the challenges that the country has undergone over the past years. He ascertained that the steady economic growth that Egypt witnessed makes it an attractive and key investment destination in the Middle East and the African continent
