Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Mohamed Salem and the Governor of Luxor, Dr. Ezzat Saad, inaugurated today 3 new technology homes in Luxor. Both minister and governor were accompanied by the Director of Human Development and Training sector at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Dr. Ahmed Adel Darwish. These technology homes are established in Egypt Public Library, Digital Bridges Foundation and the local unit of Manshiet Al- Nouba. The 3 venues have been fully equipped with computers, connected to networks and Internet, supplied with technology equipment and training courses for instructors. |

| Communications, Information Security and Accessibility: to Be Discussed at the Parliament |

The Egyptian Cabinet legislative committee has approved the amendments of the communications law no. 10 for the year 2003. The amendments consist of forming a committee to define the emergency cases to limit the use of communications tools not to cut them down. According to the amendments, limiting the communications can only be undertaken as per a written order by the President and upon an official suggestion of the Cabinet of ministers clarifying the reasons. |

| IT Companies Get Their Due Payments |

The Cabinet of Ministers agrees on delivering the IT companies due payments at the government bodies, mounting to 100 million EGP. The Cabinet has taken the decision after reviewing the ministry of finance. Each company is to receive immediately its due payments upon accomplishing the assigned work, the minister of Communications and Information Technology confirms. |

Information Technology Industry Agency (ITIDA) announces that 270 MSEs are selected to receive the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology support. Each company is to be provided with 100 thousands EGP for the first project, delivered on four phases, while they will be delivered 50 thousands EGP for the second project. Among the winning companies, there are I-Tech for software and IM for information systems and Smart Digital company. |

| Egypt Calls for Developing Arab e-Content in Doha Summit |

During Doha Summit, Egypt asserts the need to unify the powers and capacities of the Arab countries into a single strong entity. Such a cohesive bloc shall make the Arab States a strong player in the international arena. At the end of his speech, minister of ICT stresses on the inevitable need to develop the Arabic content on the internet. Dr. Salem calls all parties to unify their efforts through an initiative to develop the Arabic digital content on the internet aiming at preserving our Arabic heritage, ensuring its succession and inheritance among generations, and accessibility to all people around the globe. |
