Sherif Elghazali is manager of the Human Resource Department at Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
Prior to this, from 2005 to 2011, Dr. Elghazali worked for the Information Technology Institute (ITI). After joining ITI as a geographic information systems (GIS) instructor, he served as a project manager, program manager, and technical manager to the head of the Soft Skills Unit. At ITI, he designed and managed various programs in the areas of information technology and interpersonal relations, and headed the team managing the Business Process Offshoring Program.
Dr. Elghazali taught a number of HR- and GIS-related courses at ITI and has served as a part-time lecturer on management at the American University in Cairo (AUC). He has also worked as an HR and IT consultant for a number of private companies active in the application development and industrial fields.
From 2003 to 2005, Dr. Elghazali worked as a recruitment and planning specialist for Orascom Construction Industries (OCI). He began his career at Global Geobits – Egypt, involved in data conversion, application development and multimedia technologies.
Dr. Elghazali holds doctorate and master of science degrees in civil engineering from Cairo University, a postgraduate diploma in GIS from ITI and a bachelor of science degree in construction engineering from AUC. He has also attended several humanities-based courses at the University of California in San Diego, USA.
Dr. Elghazali has published numerous research papers in periodicals and journals and has participated in various international conferences. In 2006, he was awarded a Certificate of Intellectual Achievement by the US Intelligence Measurement Program. |
